At Mezbaan, which means host in Dari (one of Afghanistan’s national languages), we carry forward one of Afghanistan’s most cherished and deeply valued traditions: hospitality. In Afghan culture, being a good host is not just a custom, it is essentially looked at as a social obligation. The Team
Driven by perfection, Chef Fazel Dashti has been in the restaurant business since 1998. His passion for cooking took him through a fabulous journey of international cuisines including working as a Chef in a French restaurant for years.
With two decades of experience, under his belt in 2006 he decided to introduce Afghan food to his Canadian companions and therefore, opened the first Afghan Restaurant in Ottawa and since then he has opened many successful Afghan restaurants around Canada.
